VPNs: Can two people share a service?

My wife and I are going to sign up for a VPN service. I know they all vary in approach but in general is it possible for two persons to share a subscription? We have a home PC, I have an mobile Android device and she has a windows laptop.

I think I've figured it out. The one I selected allows three devices per license.

AFAIK if you have one login, that login can only be used on one device at a time. Once Device A logs out, Device B, C, D, ~ X, Y,Z, can log in, as long as nothing else does.
