The VZW g2 variant has the heartbleed vulnerability. Let us hope VZW will patch it. If their track record is any indication though they will fix it next year.

Sorry for my ignorance, but how do you know this? Google's blog only mentioned 4.1.1.

I see what you mean, but that doesn't affect the device because the heartbeat function (required for heartbleed vulnerability) is turned off so you are safe. However, it would be nice to have it update it to the latest version of OpenSSL.

Don't worry. You don't have a problem with Heartbleed bug other than VWZ not updating your device.
