Walking billboard

My phone (note 8) has turned into a walking billboard over the last couple of days even when you unlock the phone it opens to an add. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so how do I get rid of it? My Norton anti-virus doesn't show anything wrong. Help

It's on the lock-screens, and it's showing some slide-to-dismiss things with ads every time you turn it on? Could be Peel Smart Remote that's installed, especially on Samsungs apparently.

I don't have the peel smart remote on my phone that I know of (I checked) but whatever it is I can't stand it. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd try an air push detector from the play store and see if that shows anything.

Installed one and ran it. Came up empty. It says that it found none.
