Wallpaper?

for this you might have to get creative and make an collage of the three images you want to use in photoshop.

Ok, i figured out whats going on here. I think that the Android OS resamples the image, but in the process destroys the image. So i went to the marketplace and downloaded an app called "Weekly Wallpapers 5" and every single image on their library looks FANTASTIC! They are all clean and excellent lookin. The reason for that is the fact that the application applies the wallpaper for you, completly bypassing the Android wallpaper app. Now, i contacted the guy that made that app and he said all he does is take an image at 1024x768 and resizes it to 640x480. Its his application that makes the difference. Awesome!

u can also use images 1024X768 they can fully be cropped just like the 640X480 :D

You can also use 320x240 images and fully crop them as well...it makes them a little fuzzy from blowing them up but it does not distort them.

try downloading some from www.zedge.net. Select something with a 320x240 screen...like the BB curve, HTC Excalibur, Moto Q

as long as the pic is 620x480 or bigger it will be fine. If you crop something that is not it has to strech it out to make it work, thus distortion.

I just did that, and it still wants me to crop.
There is a new application called "Wallpaper Set and Save" Its very basic but it does the job extremely well. It allows you place a PNG image as a wallpaper without using the Android image crop and place application. This allows you to have a clean looking image without the distortion.

it will always ask to crop! juat crop the entire picture! long press the box and wait for the arows then drag it all of the way out.

Yes if the picture is smaller than the 640x480 or you dont crop an area of a pic that is the same size it will stretch

I agree that the app does wonders! Its very easy now to create customized walls for the android. Just make sure you save them as pngs though. I'll see if i can post some custom walls here in the near future =)

look in the market for "wallswitch" and that's how i center and crop/add my pictures to wallpaper without stretching it. I use the "letterbox" settings. and it centers any picture you want. and if you want to. point the app at a folder and let it change your wallpaper to any one of the pictures in the folder you choose. it's a wonderful app.
