Wanna get an android phone for gaming

OK, I have about $300-$400 and want to get a good android phone. I saw a bunch of Sony Erricson XPERIAs in some stores that were about $200 but I'm not sure if they have the functionality I need. Here are some features I'm interested in:

Multi-Touch (with good touch sensors, some phones don't recognize the touch fast enough to be good for gaming)

Fast Processing (Enough for PSX/n64 emulators to run some games (like Gran Turismo, if possible))

Keyboard (since some games and emulators work better with real buttons)

Tilt-Sensors (Not so important but they would be nice to have)

App Support (I'm not really familiar with android, but I want a phone that can run most apps)

Any Suggestions? It's okay if it's not in the price range, maybe I could manage)

Thanks in advance.

If you are willing to drop $400 you can probably get any top of the line phone, especially with different rebates service providers have.

The first step to helping you is knowing which service you have (or are planning on getting).

IMO, the best phone on the market right now would be the MOTOROLA ATRIX 4G - Android 2.2 Smartphone - Wireless from AT&T. For new customers, it is $199 ($300 online discount). It will probably be more with activation fees and such. For existing customers, I'm not quite sure what the prices look like or what AT&T offers for rebates since I'm with Sprint. The one thing it lacks for your requirements though, is the physical keyboard .

There are several other new phones that other providers offer with similar specs to that one, such as the dual core processors. Sprint has yet to get one, but is announcing several new phones at the end of this month, one of which is the rumored EVO 3D.

Thanks for replying.

I don't quite get you. :) I live in Iran. Here, we buy imported phones from retailers and insert our SIMs into them. I'm fairly sure that I can get my hands on most models (I have to look a bit hard though) and the prices are about the same...

I haven't seen any Motorola phones in stores, but I'll try to find that. Any suggestions for HTC or Sony Ericsson? These can be found easily here.

I think the American seller doesn't really matter. two of my cousins have HTCs (Smart and Desire) My mom has a Nokia N8 and my father has an iphone, they all work great here and they're priced about the same as in US. So you can just suggest anything.

OR you can tell me how much processor I need for PSx/N64 emulation, and I'll try to figure the rest out myself.

Again, thanks in advance. :)

The motorola Atrix would be one you could use, it runs on GSM not CDMA and up until recently most the decent Moto android phones were CDMA thanks to Verizon. For what you are looking for the Sony Xperia play should be coming out soon, it is made for gaming. No words on pricing currently, it does not have a keyboard but a slide out playstation game pad type thing.

I've actually considered Xperia Play, and actually wanted to get one. But the thing is I'm not sure of it's price, and also I'm not sure how emulators would work on it. Also, If there was a phone in my price range available now, it would be better for me to get one now. (Iranian new year's in 9 days, and I can get any phone I want in that price range as a present, for Xperia Play I'm gonna have to pay the price myself. :p )

The best HTC phones available right now are probably the EPIC 4G and the EVO 4G, but both can be considered outdated. The EVO 4G shift has similar hardware as those to, as long as a slide out keyboard.

Since you only have about nine days (if you don't want to pay for it yourself) then the Xperia Play is probably not the best way to go, but here is some more info about it's release:
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Arc and Neo Set for Launch

Price range will be $5-600 apparently. It has similar hardware to current devices, like the HTC ones listed above, using a 1ghz Qualcomm processor and 512mb or RAM, so it will probably run the N64 and PSX emulators at a decent speed. Aside from the gaming keyboard, the coolest thing I have heard you can do with it is:

"This Spring Collection offers standalone Sony Ericsson apps that can be removed by the user."

Non of these BS Apps like what HTC puts on the ROM that you can't remove without rooting your phone...Another interesting thing I like about it:

"Sort filter is the another additional feature added in Xperia play touchphone. It will allow you to sort the applications according to usage frequency, alphabets and installation time."
