Hello, first time posting on this site and I apologize in advance if this is a obvious question but I haven't been able to finds a concrete answer just trying to look it up. I am on a family plan with Verizon, a 2 year contract that still has about 16 months on it, I am in no way satisfied with my phone and desperately want to be able to upgrade to another one. What is the best way I can go about doing that and if there is no way but to just wait it out will it be upgradable after a total of 20 months?

Welcome to the forums, Debacle.

If you go to your "my Verizon" site by logging in at Cell Phones, Cell Phone Plans, 4G LTE network with the Best Cell Phone Service - Verizon Wireless, then click the "upgrade phone" link on that page, then to the phones, you'll see the prices of each phone for you: full price, unless you're near or at the end of your contract time.

I say "near," because some users have reported going into the stores and being successful at talking them into allowing for a discount before their contract is fully expired. Your mileage may vary. ;)

We see all sorts of "free" and "99 cents" sales around at the various outlets, such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy, but again, you can get the phone for that price, but probably only if you start a new line on your family plan or a whole new account.

The "concrete answer" you're looking for is in your contract. But, as I say, some folks do manage to work something out at the stores for a deal.

Best of luck to you.

Can you swap phones with someone else in your family and use their upgrade? Each line will have its own clock...
