Want to switch to TMobile. Nee advice on how to not get jump program

I want to switch to TMobile to save some $$ on rolling three plans into one family. The TMobile plans looks good, however, up to the time when you realize that you have to pay monthly lease for the phone. With the lease on top of the plan $$ it is not such an appealing deal.
I want to get G2, is there a way to get on a plan where I don't have to pay monthly lease for the phone? I am ok with 2 years contract.

T-Mobile has gone a different direction with its plans. Verizon, AT&T & Sprint offer 2 year contracts and offer the device at "subsidized" prices. That G2 that normally costs roughly $600 dollars is sold at those 3 carriers for a certain amount that is less than the $600. These companies refuse to take a loss on the sale and instead increase the price of your service with them. However if you buy it at full retail, they don't reduce the rates. T-Mobile has separated these two things, so rather than jacking your service costs up regardless, they only charge you for device repayment if you don't buy full retail.

The Jump Program is an option and you can just say "No Thank You."

As was explained above, TMo separates the cost of your service and the cost of the device. The cost of your service will stay the same (we hope!).

With your device you have two options. (1) Pay the entire purchase price upfront and not make additional payments in addition to your service cost, or

(2) Go with a payment plan which will distribute your payments for the phone over two years (interest free!). The payment for the phone will be in addition to your service payments. HOWEVER, after two years (or when the phone is payed off), the payment you are making for the phone will end and you will be left with just your service payment.

JUMP is an additional option and extra $10.00 @ month. It is an option, not required. However, if you "insure" your device, the JUMP program includes insurance. Insurance by itself costs $8.00 @ month so if you use insurance, JUMP can be a pretty good deal.

Hope this helps!
