"OnePlus 3 smartphone fans have been warned against updating their device after it was found to have a damaging effect.

The company was flooded with complaints from users after rolling out a software update earlier today that was negatively affecting the device's battery life and overall performance.

Some customers reported faster battery drain than previously experienced, following other grumbles that the device's RAM performance was slower than seen prior to updating."

"However if you are a OnePlus 3 owner, it may be worth holding off from updating your device for now, or keeping a battery charger nearby just in case."

It seems that the new update is not affecting all users in the same way and may not be all down to OnePlus...

This is such a disappointment, I literally had the phone ordered but I cancelled it shortly after I heard all the bad reports about the battery. It was suppose to be my replacement for my Galaxy S7 now I just wanna go back to old faithful...Nexus 6P ;-)

It reminds me about how Lollipop ruined my Nexus 7 (2012). Google never made an optimized version of Lollipop for the old Nexus 7, after the update my tablet is as good as a paperweight.

It can't seem to focus correctly since the update...

Which update... 4.0 or 4.1.0? I tap on the camera screen and select the manual focus cog wheel in Nougat.
