Warranty / Replacent Touchscreen

Basically I cracked my screen and verizon said it wasn't covered under the warranty. The phone still worked perfectly. Now months later my touchscreen has deadspots certain keys on the keyboard work only sometimes and also double key and the phone become glitchy.

Will they blame all of the problems on the cracked screen, even though it operated fine for months and some problems seem unrelated (home and search buttons won't work but are nowhere near the crack)? How long does the warranty last?

If I have no chance of getting a replacement phone, is there anywhere I can purchase a new touchscreen (glass and touch module)?
