Okay So I have recently purchased a Droid 1 from someone off craiglist. They phone is in really good shape aside from the slider being extremely loose.

Anyways. I've read that warranties don't transfer. But, I wonder.. I just registered the phone under my name on Motorolas website (never been registered before). Do you think I found a loop-hole for this? And Motorola told me the phone was still under warranty.. now I just have to call and ask VZW..

Should I try it?

You will have to go through Motorola directly for any warranty issues, Verizon will only honor warranties for the original purchaser of the device.

It is quite easy for Verizon to also check which accounts the device was active on and when it was initially purchased.

He may get lucky with Motorola, but the device is certainly not covered by warranty. Motorola's warranty only covers initial purchaser.
