Help Was Charging Phone And Fell Asleep -__- Does This Damage The Phone Or Battery?

So i was charging my 6edge plus cuz it needed to be charged but i fell aslep cuz i was freaking tired and i forgot i was charging it. probably been a few hours. does over charging the phone damage the phone or the battery? this is the first time this has happened. should i be worried?

Don't worry about it at all. The phone has circuitry to protect from over charging. What it will do is once you reach 100% it will stop the charge completely and then let the power drop by 5% to 10% and then begin a trickle charge to maintain it, but it's not going to hurt your phone or battery at all.
