Was going to switch carriers

I told Verizon I was going to switch to another carrier, they new I had my own phone. Did you know before you dump them (verizon) they will offer you a plan that is not advertized or even mentioned anywhere.
I told them I would never sigh a contract with them and didn't want pre-paid.
When I asked how long the price was good for they said forever. I have a friend that works for Verizon in upper management and he had to really look to find the program they offered me to stay.
I was told years ago to never ever sign a contract with Verizon, those contract in no way benefit you and everyone of them are a gold mine for verizon regardless of what they told you.
My plan unlimited- talk-text and 2 GB data -- $45.00 a month, you need your own phone I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5 on Ebay for $300.00 with a 1 yr warranty.
I guess I'll be staying with Verizon and I'm sure that was there plan when offering me this plan.

If you own your own phone, the regular going rate is $30 or $40 a month depending on what type of phone you have.

I have been with Verizon 20+ years and seen a lot of changes.
extra phones used to be $10/line for the extra phones over my own back in the 1x days and that was grandfathered until you had to change your plan type. I just recently ran into that when my wife changed from an old flip phone to a smart phone. $10 => $40 zap!

for her, it was not worth it.... but she bitched about not being able to see a picture from our son so I bit the big one and changed her phone to an S5. Two pictures later and she never used it for that again. She is just not a geek period... the phone lays around for a week at a time w/o being used. Which reminds me, it probably needs to be recharged now.

I think you did good challenging them, they definitely do not want to loose customers.

almost two years ago, i got the loyalty pitch and stayed for $60 per month-month to month. i opted to keep the $60 per month for unlimited with 2 gig of data and convert to contract so i could get a note 3 at a discounted price.

my contract is up in a few months and i want to replace the note 3. i should be able to get the $45 month loyalty deal you got in april, 2015. prices are going down. i was on a contract price of over $120 per month when they switched me. theonly thing i am missed is teathering. i used to teather using app's. that does not consistently work well.

anyone else with current experience with loyalty plans. ??????????????????????????????

I just switched to Verizon for the $200 trade-in and $100 statement credit promotion. My first bill is about $66 for single line with 1gb data.
