Watch TV Remotely: Dynamic DNS

I have a Vu Plus box with which I use an app called Vu Player to use my phone as a remote, and also to stream videos. I've found I can use the app on my PC with Bluestacks, but (probably because my PC is connected via ethernet rather than wifi) the app is asking for a dynamic DNS...

What is one, and how do I get it edit: to work:P ?

Cheers

Edit: I've tried using a free DNS service, but inputting the domain name hasn't helped my connect to my box :(

I made an account on a free website but when I put the link into the relevant box in the app it still doesn't work?
Anyone got any ideas what to do?

Dynamic DNS means that your device - Bluestacks in this case - has to request an IP address from the router. It may look to the app like there's no way for BS to request a DDNS, since it's a virtual operating system running in another operating system, so it won't work. I'd contact whoever wrote the Vu app (the company that makes the box?) and ask how to solve the problem.

I think you might be thinking of DHCP, in which clients in a network request an IP address from the DHCP server (usually a router in the case of private, home networks). Dynamic DNS is a way to have consistent remote access to your home network when dealing with a dynamic IP provided to your modem/router via your ISP.
