Watching videa while traveling

One thing I have noticed when watching youtube videos is that some videos are blocked in my country (USA), so what would happen if I traveled with the same phone they were blocked on to a country without whatever causes that restriction? Does youtube still see me as an american because of where the service was provided and won't play the video or does the restriction go away? I'm not planning any international travel anytime soon but the question popped up in my mind, which happens a lot.

YouTube goes by your IP address. So if you were in a country where the videos are available, then yes you should be able to view them. You could try using a VPN, one that will give you an IP address in your desired country

I just tried the same video on my computer and it's blocked too but no surprise. I used anonymoX but the only 2 choices were UK and Netherlands. It's just an episode of Outer Limits featuring Mark Hamill but the only copies of it are blocked. Not all episodes are blocked but a few are. Is there a similar product for android that can spoof what country you are in? And, for that matter, one for Firefox too?

I don't really know much about VPNs other than the very basic concept

Easy way how to view blocked content, sign in with your gmail account with youtube, and you can view whatever your heart desired too. :)

I've noticed that the YouTube app realizes that a vpn is in use, and it'll not let you do it. But you can probably use a vpn with your mobile browser, and it should work.

Just download any vpn from the play store and set the country. Make sure it's a trusted vpn. Don't ask me how that's done...
