Help WATER UNDER MY SCREEN

i bought a xperia Z3 and because its waterproof i decided to check it by putting it in a bucket of water.i put it in for like 2 minutes and took it out.i wiped it and when i turned the screen on i noticed one side is dark and other side light. How could this happen if it is said to be waterproof. the flaps were never opened under water and i doubled checked if the flaps are closed properly before putting it in the water.

How could this happen if it is said to be waterproof.

Flaws happen - one of my fellow-mods had something similar happen to a Z1. If the water indicators behind the port covers aren't tripped then Sony will exchange it under the warranty.
