WAVESECURE specific issue: Doesn't work with phone OFF

On my HTC EVO Wavesecure works well normally, but if you turn the phone all the way off, it can not be located, or locked or anything else. I haven't rooted my phone and I believe that there may be no solution to this problem. Any info at all on this would be appreciated. I also posted this under HTC EVO and hope that the redundancy is not a violation (I just joined the forum today). Thanks.

There is nothing you can do about the fact that the app does not work when the phone is off. Do you expect programs to work when your PC is turned off?

Not the same thing at all. With the battery in but the phone turned off Mobile Defense can ALLEGEDLY turn on the GPS if and only if the phone is rooted. Unfortunately Mobile Defense is currently wait listed.

Are you sure about this? I'm pretty sure the case is actually mobile defense being able to enable GPS on your phone if your GPS is currently turned off in order to track the location of your device if your phone is rooted... not being able to power your phone on.

Does Mobile Defense claim it can do that on Android? On an Evo? Some devices, like BB, aren't really "off" when powered down. From everything I've seen, the Evo is totally off when off.

I do believe that when the EVO is powered down that it can't be done for seemingly obvious reasons. The info about Mobile Defense came from another forum and I believe is total heresay and my guess is that he unfortunately confused "off" with "powered down".
