Thanks!!

I hope it has been optimized to run better. It runs really slow and will close on the Sprint HTC Hero. I emailed some bug reports over Christmas and submitted the crash logs.

I have never had any issues with Waze on my Hero. I've been running Waze since the summer on both Windows Mobile devices and Android. I can say it runs a heck of a lot better on my hero! Turning off 3D view solves a lot of the lag issues you may be having, give that a shot.

I got the new version of Waze and it seems to have taken up a few extra mb's of my precious storage space. The size is App-4.12 & Data-2.03, which seems much bigger than the last version. Anyway to reduce that? Or is that including some of the data that is stored on my SD card?

I haven't tried driving with this version yet, but love the app. Chomping roads is fun, plus I've found some cool new shortcuts!

I just downloaded waze the other day. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but one aspect I am going to love is the traffic updates giving alternate routes. This is a fact with living in Pittsburgh where there is an accident or road construction every day.

I Hope you guys have downloaded the new version which is available in the
Android Market.

The new version does include new performance fixes, improved responsiveness and lower memory use. More performance fixes will be available in upcoming versions.

As for the size of the app, we split the installation between the internal phone memory and the SD card. Whatever could be reduced from the internal phone memory was moved to the SD card

I drove about 200 miles this weekend, and didn't have 1 crash (driving & the app, haha!)

I love using Waze, once more people are as convinced as me, it will be as good as my old Dash Express.

One issue that I did notice is that when I enter a search or address, the letters still do not appear immediately on the screen. Just a minor annoyance.
