I've recently been reading about the state of affairs at Valve Corporation. Let's just say they're making far too much easy money from Steam game mods to care about putting effort into their classic game franchises. For one thing, the developers aren't interested, as they can pretty much pick and choose what they wish to work on. And there are way cooler projects going on, so I don't think we're getting another Half Life any time really.
