weather app

I had weather channel's app. Figured they would be the best for accuracy. It has a 2x2, a 1x1 and a 1x4 widget (I used 1x4)

But after last update, it started force closing constantly over and over, so I uninstalled. I'll try again later as I really did like it.

I have a decent looking one now, but it doesn't give me the 3 day forecast on the 1x4 widget like I like.

With that update you had to uninstall & reinstall.

I really like the Weather Channel app the best. I've also tried WeatherBug Elite and didn't like it, I found the app to be cluttered and I didn't like the widget, which is one of the most important parts of the app for my use. The Weather Channel app is free and has just about everything that you'd need, and it's the only free weather app that I know of that includes animated radar (another big feature for me.)

just did the fancy weather widget (something like that, can't remember the exact name)

Incorporates time in big flip number clock, very easy to read, includes location, temp, sun/moon/cloudy/t-storm icon, and if you tap, it goes to extended forecast, double tap, takes you to alarm clock. Great looking mutltiple use widget.

I reinstalled weather channel, and it is working better, but for now, it's my number 2 weather app. Not using it currently

Anyone notice that The Weather Channel app is collecting a ton of data? There's no cache to clear, but the size of my app has more than tripled in size. Any way to stop this or is it on the developers end? Thanks.

Also, does the Weatherbug app do the same?

After using the weather channel app for the last couple years, I finally removed it when it wasn't working right recently on my Incredible. I began using the default HTC weather widget and to my surprise, my battery life has been waaay better ever since. I really liked some of the features TWC app offered but I really think it was draining my battery.

It makes me wonder, if some of us who think we need bigger batteries just need to avoid certain apps. I used to pull my phone off the charger, and literally 5 mins later it would show 95%. Then an hour later 85% and would usually get me through the day but drained fairly quickly. Now that I've removed it, I can go a few hours before getting into the 80% range and could prob go a couple days if needed. Pretty happy with my battery now!

I like the Free AccuWeather Quick app from the market with the built in widget, don't mistake it for the old one, this one hasn't been out long, it has good visuals and a accurate 3 day forcast for your chossen area.

I agree with the battery issue. I noticed that it was always running in the background when I would check running services.

Snowstorm works for me. Several of the others fail to identify my location in Cambridge (UK) and say no data available. Has several sizes from 1x1 upwards.

sorry if this has been posters before
whats the best free weather app on the market

What phone do you have?

In my opinion, the best free weather app is the stock one that comes with Sense UI.

I love it, especially on the Incredible. Simple. Beautiful widget. Easy to use.

If you have a phone running Sense, and are looking for a good free weather app, then just use the stock one.

Palmary weather. Really good looking and quite accurate. Supports multiple places and has forecasts for 2 and 15 days, airport delays and several types of maps.

That's the stock Android 2.1 clock/weather app, right? I like it, but it the temp/weather don't seem to be as accurate for me as the WTC app... Am I the only one who feels that way?

nope

its kinda like the HTC one just not animated and such
