weather bug app

I don't know, but I prefer the weather channels app because it has up to date animated radar. WeatherBug seems to have no animated radar, someone correct me if I'm wrong.
 
Weather Bug Elite has animated radar with a variety of layers, warning boxes, and lightning strike indicators.

The radr seems to update whenever I look at it. Not sure if it follows the update schedule or not.
 
I have the Elite version as well. I like it much better then the Weather Channel app, mostly because it doesnt seem to "hijack" your droid as much. I just want my current weather when I ask for it.

I'm guessing that it updates the radar once an hour, unless there is a severe warning issued, but not sure.

It definately update more often than once an hour. That would be nearly useless during severe weather. Most radars update about every 5 minutes. Run it in animation mode, where it shows a series of images, and you can tell that it's updated frequently. Unlike most radars, it doesn't show an image timestamp, so you can't tell for sure what the frequency is.
