Weather Channel App question

I have a loud ring tone for receiving sms which is perfect for my use.
Recently downloaded weather channel app to find by ticking off all the do not receive notifications still when it wants to tell you something it sounds my ring tone, like 3 am..

Any suggestions, can I change the ring tone?

Cound't understand your question but

In Case that you want to change your notifications sound you should do the following:

• 1. Open the Android Settings.
• 2. Tap on Sound
• 3. Tap Default notification sound.

In Case you want to change the notifications sound for an exact app in your case weather channel app you should do the following;

1. Open your device's Settings app.
2. Tap Apps & notifications
   
   Notifications.
3. Under 'Recently sent', see apps that recently sent you notifications.
   • You can turn off all notifications for a listed app.
   • To pick specific categories of notifications, tap the app's name.
   • To see more apps, tap See all from last 7 days. To sort by Most recent or Most frequent, tap them.

Thank you, you understood my question perfectly.

I have S3 mini and don't seem to have a "Recent" button under the App Mgr.

I just need to change the notification sound regarding the WxCh app.

So you do it like this

Settings: > Application Manager > then click on WxCh app > notifications
