Weather Widget Help Please

Hi there. I just got the T-mobile Prism a few hours ago and I am a first time android user. I tried installing the weather widget and it says "Sorry unable to connect. Please try later" with the option to retry now. I have a few times but that's just stuck on my home screen and I don't know how to close it. Any help would be much appreciated!

Is your data plan activated? If not, try connecting with Wi-Fi

I have the same problem with two Samsung Android phones, it also does not update at the specified interval. The widget is the problem, not the phone.
