Weather widget that doesn't vamp the battery

Just what the title says: I've been using the stock Accuweather widget, and I'm wondering if it may or may not have a large effect on my battery life.

Any recommendations for weather widgets that don't add much drain? I just like to know what the temperature is (current, daily low/high) and the conditions. I generally refresh manually.

Well, the less animations the widget has, the less drain on battery. That said, you can use minimalistic text and configure it to show weather.

I use Beautiful Widgets for my weather, and do not have any issues with battery life... I don't use task killers or apps like juice defender. I simply follow the tips for prolonging my battery that are in the user manual that came with my phone. ;)

The longer time you set the widget to sync, the less juice it will need. I don't set anything to less than an hour, but anything I have to do with weather I set to manual, that way it never syncs until I open it.

I have no weather widget, only a weather icon that I touch that opens a weather app (actually I have 3 icons, one that opens WeatherUS, one that opens a browser link to Wunderground, and one that opens Raindar). None use juuice until they are opened.

PS: I use Minimalistic Text, but I turned off its weather icon, I thought it did use too much juice.

Auto Refresh : None.

though this was probably a bug

I use Weatherbug Elite with maps. I have both to sync every 4hrs. I have a stock task manager on my phone that I have Weatherbug to stop when the screen is off. It has helped save power alot.

I use WeatherEye with a widget in my centre home screen. I believe the widget only updates when you stop on the home screen of the widget for a few seconds. The widget has not caused any battery issues on my phone.
