Help Weird ads

Hi all,

Before I get to the problem, I know ads are a necessary evil, I don't mind them much if they are SFW. And that's the problem...

For some reason Google decided that I should get dating ap ads, fine if they are SFW, well... The ones I'm getting lately are not...
Furthermore, it decides to give me wish ads, I needed a cheap wallet a while back, decided to search for a leather wallet and some funny/punny shirts, well, you can guess what kind of "leather clothing" wish ads are now suggesting...

Is there a way to block certain ad categories? (the dating app is the worst I don't want my boss to walk by and see a photo of a girl suggesting BJ's...)

Are you sure these are from Google, and not some other third-party? Ads served up by Google should have an ID marker in the corner, that looks like the Play Store logo.

Google are not the only ones who monetizes apps, games, websites, etc. with ads

FWIW Google's ad preferences and targeting may not be too good anyway. Half the ads I see on YouTube are for Donald Trump, Michael Bloomberg, and other US political things, yet I'm in the UK, and spend much of my time in China.

I get a lot of "wrong" ads also, insurance for seniors, baby clothing, that sort of things, I don't mind them.
The big problem is the NSFW ads, if I can't solve it with settings I think I'm going to have to resort to a solution like a pie-hole as watching pornographic material at my job is grounds for getting fired which could ruin my career.

Sad that Google does nothing against this.

It's ads alright but you're not getting them from Google.
Install an ad blocker such as adguard from the play store that can block these ads. Works on ANY browser....

I just installed adguard, it does only block in Yandex and Samsung browser

Apperantly adguard no longer works since a recent update.

Just use NewPipe.
It is an alternative to Youtube.
It has all the content, and none of the ads (ads as part of content excepted).
It also allows background play and downloadng, which Youtube does not allow in its standard app.

NewPpe is free, and available on F-Droid.

It is importnt to keep it updated, as Youtube has been occasionally changing things that interfere with apps like NewPipe.
