Help Weird battery problem. Help!

I am having a strange problem. My phone will not read my battery. My battery is fully charged, but my phone is saying it is at 0% and will turn off if I unplug the phone from the wall. I have an external wall battery charger and my wife has the same model of phone and when I put my battery in here phone it says it is at 100%. So I know the battery is charged. I did a master reset but that did not help. I have tried doing a hard reset while the phone is off, but it won't let me do it with the phone plugged in and since it won't read the battery, I can't do it with the phone unplugged.

Any ideas?

If the two phones are identical try swapping the batteries and see what happens. if both batteries work in your wife's phone but none in your phone it most likely is an issue with the battery connector or the charging/power circuits in your phone.
