Help Weird display colours and brightness

I was talking on the phone and all of a sudden the screen became really washed out - wondering if anyone else has had this issue, ive rebooted several times and its as if the contrast has been turned all the way up to the max - the blacks are now light grays and the graphics look laggy. Even when the white samsung logo appears on the black bootup screen I can see a kind of pixelated effect around the logo. Generally the graphics look downgraded but apart from the above the phone works fine. In addition there are a few very thin grey horizontal lines (from side to side) in my display. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the exact same issue with exception to the gray lines. I had to have my screen replaced after I dropped mymy phone and I was going to blame it on a bad job, but unless you've done the same I'm afraid we can only hope that it is a software issue. On occasion it returns to normal but only until the screen times out and when I go to unlock a.gain the problems reappear

i also had my screen replaced because it was broken. But the new screen worked perfectly for 5 months until the problem emerged. my phone never turns back to normal. as hard as i tried to find a solution i did not manage to find a solution online.

Well, it seems then that we are in trouble, because if it is a hardware fault, we will need to have our screens replaced yet again. Personally I find this a prime time to get the Nexus or Galaxy II, I thinks my Galaxy S has served it's purpose...of course, there is still hope, but as it seems, we are the only ones afflicted with this problem and and solution will be a long time coming.

It has been made known to me by a friend that this could all simply rely on a connection cable, as underlined by the fact that I get normal colors every now and then for short periods of time, or at least until the screen times out as I said before. This means that we could open it up ourselves and see if the connectors are all in. This is just a guess, a professional opinion would be much appreciated.
