Help Weird flickering and shutting off

sometimes I will be on my galaxy s3 and if it's at like 20-50% battery (even when it's charging) the screen flickers and the phone dies. when I turn it back on it's at 0%. also, I can prevent it from dying if I turn off the screen right when the flickering happens. I think it might be something with the battery but I'm not sure...

Which model do you have, and how long have you had the phone? I'm suspecting it's the device itself, and not the battery. If the screen has constantly stayed on for much of its useful life, it's probably about to stop working. You could have that replaced... but it may be time to move on to a newer device, if you can afford it.

As far as the battery, I bought a new one from B&H for $17. I still have the original as a backup, but the newer one holds its charge much longer, especially when turned off for a few days. I use my Sprint S3 as a streaming device at home.
