Help Weird Phone behaviour

Hello, a few weeks ago my Alcatel One Touch Idol X started acting a little weird. It disconnected from WiFi, and when I go into WiFi settings it just shows "searching for available networks". WiFi won't turn off as well. When I tried to reboot my phone using the onscreen buttons, it turns off and it won't turn on again. It will work again after I let my phone lay disconnected from the charger (presumably it works again after the battery has been dead). A factory reset doesn't work. The problem still occurs. Does anyone know a solution to this problem?

That's a tricky one. From the symptoms it sounds like a combination of the Wifi radio getting stuck searching for networks and the power draw triggers a thermal event (circuitry gets too hot).

A factory reset can usually fix firmware issues, unless you're rooted and have modified anything in /system. If you are not rooted and a reset doesn't fix it, it most likely is a bit of hardware on the verge of failing. Not a whole lot you can do with that.
