What is happening is that Android scans your sd card periodically for new media and makes it available to various apps. Facebook is obviously storing images in a cache on your sd card and Android is finding it. The ads could come from on of a hundred apps. What you want to do is find the folders where these images are stored and insert an empty text file named '.nomedia' (without the quotes). The '.' tells the file system that it is a hidden file and the existence of a file named this way makes Android skip the folder.
You could also use an app like StudioKUMA .nomedia Manager.
