Okay,
this ole IT used to be ExPurt?? is totally confused….
I have a WiFi network sharing issue that just showed up all of a sudden,
have no clue as to why??
Situation:
ASUS File Manager is a great file manager that can use WiFi to transfer files to any other device that has Sharing Enabled. I have been using it for years, and it is my preferred method of moving files between devices. PC, laptops, other cellphones…. It just don’t care, as long as, they will show up on a WiFi channel as having Sharing Enabled.
But, all of that changed recently, and I don’t know why.
What is going on, is one device, a Windows Laptop name Cyndi won’t appear on the WiFi to either of my Samsung S5 phones with Android 6.x installed.
EDIT: I just checked on PlayStore and there was an update, installed that, No Joy
However, my older Note 4, with 4.4.4 can find “Cyndi” and transfers files to that laptop just fine.
Device #1 is my Samsung Note 4 on 4.4.4 and it works perfectly as the attached picture shows.

Device #2 & Device #3 are both Samsung S5 phones as mentioned above, this is the picture that both display when “Networks Search” is activated.

I have gone through the Sony laptop from stem to stern, I have reassigned the Shared Folders twice. And in each case the Note 4 finds what I need with Cyndi at 192.168.1.82
But, neither of the Samsung S5 phones can see the Sony laptop named "Cyndi".
But IP address 192.168.1.82 is obviously missing on the S5 phones.
I am totally out of ideas to run with, I need a refresher course in network sharing apparently.
Help..... Why can the Note 4 scan up to and find x.x.x.82 but neither of the S5 phones can't see any higher than x.x.x.71 ????
The Epson is a WiFi enabled printer.
