jumped to att and have a galaxy s3 after my third shitty spectrum. verizon wanted to offer me a certified replacement rzr for 379 i told them to get farked. i'm on att now rooted already and rockiing jelly bean. this thing is butter. thanks for the little bit of development ya'll were able to do with that piece of crap.

If you guys are having issues with your Spec's post your questions and try to get the problem fixed before stating the device sucks or whatever. I think more often than not whatever issues you have can be solved with the help of the community. Just sayin'

I'd be another of those users that has not had problems with the phone beyond the charging issue and the BT, although I did side-step the Optimus U.I. by installing ADW Launcher EX.
I'd wager, many experiencing problems are probably using the stock U.I.
No need to root.
My first Spectrum was lost to the road-gods because I left it on the hood of my car. It's replacement has been just as rock-solid like the first.
Just sayin.

I was beginning to think the same thing with my spectrum but soon realized that not every app plays nicely with all phones across the board. With the exception of one colleague in my office we're all running the LG Spectrum. Mainly because I got a deal on the phones and I noticed there was development for it.
Stock, the phone is not bad imo, however rooted with a custom kernal/rom...? it's much better. The specifications of the phone is average but overall I would give the phone a 4 out of 5 and mainly because the UI is annoying. Once this phone has ICS it will be a much better experience (even for the stock user).

Exactly, but there is some issue with the stock kernel and rom that don't jive with apps like other phones do. So people aren't all incorrect to say there's a problem with the phone.
We can only hope lg listened, stepped their game up and the ICS stock they're releasing resolves those issues.

Agreed. It seems as though LG put the cart before the horse in development of the stock rom and kernal. As long as you're an average user and do not run many third party applications you should have no issues.
I will say though- I agree with your comments in a prior thread about this phone having issues in 'batches' as some have no issues while others are plagued with them. I have an issue with short-range connectivity of wifi and GPS lock... Another appraiser in my office does not have this issue, go figure?
I have been toying with the idea of flashing BP again as my first flash was bad. Then again I wonder if it's not time to send this phone back to Verizon for a factory refurbishment.

I'm on my 3rd and each had different issues, but none of them had the same issue, when I've used meticulous steps to test each one by introducing the same apps/elements at the same times. I can only conclude the phones are showing batch-specific defects. That's not a bad thing... manufacturers are plagued by batch-run issues all the time, but it's a shame it takes laypersons and normal joes like you and I to catch this crap, rather than LG doing so and making right.
It's not the kind of thing you can complain to VZ about either... they don't return phones under factory warrant because they randomly reboot all the time. I'm sure if you raise enough Hell in the store, you'll get a manager to warranty it, but it shouldn't take that kind of effort to get a 'bug free' phone, IMO.
That said, #3 is my best one yet... as long as I keep it underclocked and use BP, I rarely get reboots. It's a shame I have to underutilize the phone, but I'll put up with it til ICS is released. If the ICS release doesn't resolve these problems, I'm taking it back to VZ and going with a different phone (after 3, they give you an equal brand replacement).

Likely, there is component variance. In addition, likely, there is assembly variance because of numerous locations where a device is assembled, but also because of worker variance... These are not comming off assembly lines were everything is essentially wave-soldered and one or two boards are connected to an LCD display like in a television.
Finally, the tests for conformance aren't likely to be exhaustive, and is batched. Even so, that batch testing isn't being done in real-world conditions.
These aren't problems isolated to LG.

Of course, that's par for the course for most electronic devices. I went through three Droid X phones before I had one that worked well. NIB my Droid X never worked right, the 2nd one was locked into a boot loop if it was on the charger too long and the 3rd phone was perfect.
