What battery should I get?

Hi there,
The battery life of my Nexus one has taken shortened quite a bit over time.
I still use the stock battery that came with it.
So I wanted to buy a new battery, but I have no idea what I need to look out for and which batteries are good and which are not.
All I am checking at the moment is whether it is compatible, but I want to know what other things I should be on the look out for.
Possibly getting a battery that lasts longer than the stock battery would be awesome, but seeing as I probably will be replacing* my phone soon, it doesn't have to be the best of the best. As long as the battery is not worse than a new stock battery.

So can anyone help me?
Seeing as I live in the Netherlands, it would be very useful if you could direct me to a shop/website that sells/delivers in the Netherlands.
Also, I prefer just buying a battery, I am not that interested in batteries that come with their own back cover (most often including a bulge).

*I am thinking about getting the Galaxy Nexus, but even then I want to keep my Nexus One in mint condition because I will probably still use after I get a new phone.

The original battery is HTC BA-S410. If you search for that you should be able to find it. There are other kinds out there but the original is usually a safer way to go.

My understanding is that the performance of these batteries does decrease in time, even if they are not used. So just because you're not using a battery does not mean it will still be good. If you want to have the N1 as a backup, you may want to consider this when it comes to the timing of actually buying the battery. (I.e. buy it when you think you'll need it, not before.)

I bought 2 batteries for my N1 a while ago from cellphoneshop.net. Always keep an extra battery close bye just in case. While not as good as the original, it does the job. Especially now that my N1 is getting close to the end of its life, no need to spend lots of money on a top of the line battery. They have batteries for $11.99 each. Shipping is very cheap. I've never had a problem with them. Go to their site and check them out.
