What do I get when I cancel my data plan?

Will a Vibrant work without a data plan? Can it still do everything on wifi?
I am about to cancel my contract (take the $200 hit) and go with even more plus with no data

I have had my vibrant for a while now. I am getting the $20 preferred customer data plan from tmobile, but I never use it. For one it is so slow in my little town, but when I go to a larger town, I still never use it. So I am thinking about turning it off. What am I left with? Are there any problems that I can expect? Can I still connect to wifi? Will most things still work without it? gps?

If you purchased the Vibrant as a subsidized phone (didn't buy full price/ebay/craigslist), than a data plan is mandatory and you cannot take the data plan off. The only way to take data is to pay the $200 ETF.

Once you take the 200 dollar hit you can def.. get a new plan without the data and everything will work on wifi. I am pretty sure gbs will work but only on wifi.. remember navigation wont work without data... I did this on my stupid Motorola cliq xt when the data plan was only $30 but then I changed phones and Got the $10 data plan.
