What do you do when your Honor 8 breaks?

I'm considering getting an Honor 8, but I'm very prone to dropping my phone so I'm concerned about what will happen if/when the phone breaks, especially having glass on both sides. It looks like Huawei's warranty doesn't cover much after the first 3 months, and doesn't provide loaner phones for use during the couple weeks it takes for service. It isn't available directly through any phone carries or physical retail stores that would normally provide loaner phones, so that's not an option. I could get a decent 2-year warranty from Newegg, but again that would mean a couple weeks with no phone if I need repairs. I haven't seen the Honor 8 listed on the websites for any of the local phone repair shops, either. Maybe it's just too new?

I've seen teardown videos for this device, and it looks like it really wasn't made with repair work in mind, compared to some other smartphones. I would be pretty hesitant to manually replace the glass panels or even the battery in this phone, especially with how much glue is used in the construction rather than snap-together pieces.

So what do Honor 8 users plan to do if their phone breaks? Just get a new one? Or is there a solution I'm missing somewhere? To be fair, I've had smartphones last over 2 years despite being dropped several times per day, so maybe I'm over-thinking this, but I don't know what the durability of the Honor 8 is like and there aren't a lot of cases to choose from.

Warranty is surely irrelevant: apart from HTC's "uh-oh" protection (USA only) no manufacturer warranty will cover accidental damage. Warranty generally means cover for manufacturing faults, but if you drop it that's your fault.

I've never seen one of these phones in the flesh so can't give an opinion on its durability, I'm afraid. But with glass both sizes then personally I'd want some protection.

Newegg's Accidental Damages warranty covers repair or replacement for damage due to drops, water damage, and other accidents. Koodo's warranty offers the same coverage, but I can't get the Honor 8 through Koodo.

I actually looked at the Cat S60, but it's a but it costs more than I can afford and doesn't seem to be getting any Black Friday sales. I was also hoping to upgrade to a larger screen, in the 5" to 5.2" range, whereas the S60 is another 4.7" display. The S60 also lacks a finger print scanner, gyroscope, and NFC functionality, which aren't absolutely essential but they are things I use frequently. Plus user reviews for the S60 complain a lot about the various flaps and doors deteriorating quickly.

For some reason none of the shatterproof Motorolas are available in Canada, and they're pretty expensive to import. From what I've seen, the regular ones are pretty durable anyway, but the 5.5" size is a deal breaker for me. I need to be able to use my phone with one hand easily. Screen-shrink features help with that a bit, but even so using a 5.5" phone one-handed drastically increases the chances of dropping it and aggravates my carpal tunnel
