What happens when your minutes are up

I got the 300 minute plan. Got some credit on Topup. Do VM just let me use the phone for $.10/minute until it's time to charged me again for the next month?

Correct.
You can also restart your 300min plan early.

Actually if you have a zero $ balance when you run out of minutes you can use the internet and text but not make/get calls. When you put $ in your account then you can go per minute or start your next month early.

I LOVE this feature because I got phones for both of my kids and if they use up their minutes early, they can only text after that - no bad surprise bills for mom

My 300 minutes expire on June 15th, if I top up early does my 30 days start now or on the 15th?

If you simply top up, the credit stays there until the 15th when it is automatically used to pay for the next month. If you top up using the "restart my plan month" link, then it starts right away.

Well, you could move to a state with lower sales tax

Somewhat easier way would be buy reloads online-- there's a thread with a few different places mentioned--a bit of a discount off the 25 or 40 too.
