I would like to join this forum but so far it hasn't helped me to find a comprehensive user guide for my Android Touch Tablet. Perhaps I'm too old (77) for this technical stuff. All I want right now is to find out where I can get some help. What kind of stuff do you guys and gals talk about on the forum? I'm very much interested right now in finding some apps doing serious stuff, not games. I'm a religious person and a member of the LDS Church (and that's not LSD Church). They (the Church) are on the forefront of developing apps for genealogy which a lot of people are interested in, especially indexing the 1940 Census records starting April 2nd 2012. Thats why I bought two of the Craig Android Touch Tablets (one with a keyboard, the Netbook). In retrospect I should have saved myself some money instead for the new technology, such as the iPad 3. I tried to get a free one to test drive but after filling out a long questionaire, they tried to pull a switch on me and have me fill out another survey for an iPad 2 instead. So now I'm back where I started. Any suggestions?

Hello and welcome aboard - thanks for joining these forums. :)

If you can't find your device specific forum - you can always stop by our General Tablet Talk - Android Forums where other tablets owners hang-out and discuss their device.

I hope you will find this place to be useful.

Hello Donald, Welcome to Android Forums.

We discuss just about anything you can think of (and probably a few things you haven't considered talking about). While the iPad3 looks to be a very nice tablet, comparing it to a $99.00 7" resistive touch screen device isn't a very fair comparison. I would expect a device six times the price to perform significantly better. You can still buy some very nice tablets for half the price of the iPad3, but you should really ask yourself exactly what you expect it to do before you buy something and then determine which features are best for the task(s) at hand.

You can still do quite a bit with a low end tablet. I would look for help based on particular tasks or apps. If you want to access the genealogy information that the Church is compiling you should look into the requirements they are setting for their apps and the platforms they are developing for.

Rush has given you a link to an area for general tablet discussions, but if you need guidance where to ask a specific question, just let us know and we'll point you to the right place. :)
