I'm guessing it has to do with a battery meter app you have installed that is likely having a constant notification setting. Do you have any of those types of apps installed?

Hello and welcome aboard.

The icon is a battery notification that has been installed on the device. To remove it go to settings - applications - manage applications - downloaded - find the battery app..tap on it and uninstall.

I hope you find these forums helpful. :)

I spent yesterday deleting anything rhat might have been the cause, on charge last night and now here it is back again! I never downloaded a battery app !! Any ideas?

What comes of it when you pull down the notification bar?
Maybe an ad for something like a battery saver?

Then it's on of this aggressive AirPush advertisings, caused from an app on your phone, triggered by the charging event.
So, you might install an AirPush detector like Lookout's Ad Network Detector to find this culprit app.

Okay, just a far-fetched idea :)

That's the stock notification on Samsung phones indicating your battery is full. My Galaxy SL has that, my Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, as well as my sister's Galaxy Fit. :D It shows up when you're done charging.

I told that to the op (3rd post), but I get the impression the icon is behaving irratically, not in sync with the charging.
At least that's what I'm assuming after reading their post(s). Which would account for why the op doesn't understand what the icon is for.
In which case something is defective, also suggested by the phone's apparent erratic behavior.

OP: If this is the case, may I suggest that you taker it in and have it checked out? Anything having to do with charging could possibly have undesirable events to your phone.

Not really sure. He said he spent the other day deleting stuff then left it to charge overnight and woke up to it.
