What is different between "New Posts" and "New Favorite Posts" links

What is the difference between clicking the "new posts" and the "new favorities posts" links? Also why do I see three options (two "new posts) when only two of these do anything?

It's possible to mark specific sections of the forum as favourites. So whilst the new posts button lists posts from the entire forum, the new favourite posts link will only show you posts in your favourite sections. So it's a very handy way to keep track of the sections of the forum you follow :)

You can mark your favourite sections here: http://androidforums.com/favoriteforums.php

As for your second question, the first dark blue one is just a subheading rather than a link. If you check out the other dropdown menus at the top of the forum, you'll see they all have a number of subheadings in there. 'Quick links', for example, has several of them. So it's not a bug, even though it's really redundant.

Now that you've added a few favourite forums, you should see a new box on the left of the main page of the forum. That provides a shortcut to any of your favourite secions and a count of how many new posts are in those sections. You can hit the edit button on the top right to go to the link I provided.

If you browse from your phone, the favourites section will also carry across to the phandroid app too.
