What is easiest way to sign up for a tether plan?

The easiest way to start tethering is to buy a phone with Android 2.2 or above and start using it. I hear that all current Android 2.2 phones on T-Mobile are capable of tethering without a tethering plan. If you really feel the need to pay T-mobile for the privilege of using a feature that was built into your phone, I would suggest calling a customer service rep and asking them to add the service. It is probably just as easy to do it online but I prefer speaking to an actual person just in case I have any questions or there is a problem.

I honestly dont know why i would pay for it. Since it is free. But i was hoping there were no overages. I see their plan is 5gb for 15 bucks thats alot to use. I doubt i will ever do that much.

Disclaimer update: Tethering without paying the additional tethering fee is against T-Mobile's terms of service. If you are caught, it is possible that T-Mobile may disconnect your service and charge penalties.

That being said: As long as you don't abuse the tethering feature and keep your data usage to a reasonable level, it is unlikely that T-mobile will ever find out. If they really wanted to stop people from tethering without paying the additional fee, I'm sure they would have done something to block unauthorized access.
