Help What is the best backup plan?

If I lost my phone or my phone is spoiled, I want to easily restore my data and settings, so my new phone has all the current data and settings.

What is the best backup plan? What steps did you do? Automatic backups?

Using Samsung S4. Not rooted.
(prefer a non rooted solution as I am not tech savvy to root.)

If you're not rooted, I recommend Helium. You'll need a PC, and I'm not sure if it will back up phone settings etc,but it will certainly do all apps and their associated data.
