I've been using the power block that came with my phone. If I use a power block rated at a higher wattage, will it charge my phone faster? Also, what IS the fastest way to charge my phone?
The phone will only draw as fast as it is capable of doing. So even if you use a higher powered block, if the phone battery is not designed to charge that fast, it won't charge faster. If the charge circuit is broken, it might charge faster but it will also have a higher chance of blowing up.
I agree - your phone's charge rate is not going to be exceeded. If your phone is rated at a 1 Amp maximum charging current, plugging it into a 2 Amp charger won't charge it twice as fast - all excessive current will do is fry your charging circuit.
If you charge your phone overnight and still need power before the end of the day, you can get additional chargers for work; your vehicle; or a portable power block to carry with you.
