Apps What is the first thing I should learn?

Im new to android too. I did however get a book Android Application Development for Dummies and Android- How to Program. I has some trouble choosing JDK, SDK and the Eclipse IDE versions as the ones in the books are bit outdated. Im sure the concepts are still valid, they were only published in 2012. Im sure they have updated versions.

P.S Let me know how your journey is going :)

I like books but as android is a constantly updating version I think you should go with online tutorials and videos.

First of all learn to set up Eclipse or Android studio. Just google it.

If you know a bit of how java works then just follow a few app building tutorials online...
Otherwise go for the basics and learn Java concepts and then go for tuts.

You know Google is your best friend when coming to learn new software stuff especially the one which is updated frequently.

Best luck! And hope you start churning out some apps!!
