What is the most recent Android OS that is actually stable and works good.

I had ICS which worked great but I wanted to update to a newer phone now I've got the Android Nougat Blue's

I just got a stylo 3 LG with the new Android Nougat OS. I hate it.

I'm having so many problems with the applications that I've been using forever not working correctly.

1. Kik is too big for the screen and seems to lock up.

2. My Ebook reader works good for about 20 seconds then the OS reinserts control over the phone changing the way it I control it.

When after 20 or so when I tap the screen in a certain area it's supposed to go to the menu but no matter how you set it up, it skips to the next chapter. So you are always losing your place. I eventually figured out and set it up so that when I shake the phone it goes to the bookmark screen and I make a bookmark before doing anything else and it loses my place.

3. I've set it to NOT notify me of weather, amber alerts and others but it still beeps when an alert comes through but it doesn't leave a visual notification :(

4. There's no way (by root) to defeat the Google NO Write to my SD card if it's not built in to the app.

It's not as simple as that. Millions of people used and still use Nougat with no problems. But the OS has to be adapted to each device by the manufacturer, who almost always add their own changes, so if a particular model has a lot of problems that's generally not due to the android version itself but to the manufacturer doing a shoddy job of using it.

So if I were to answer your question literally I would say "the android 9 developer preview release", which is what I am using. But only half a dozen devices have the option of using it, so it would not be a helpful answer.

Your first 2 of your problems sound like app problems. I'd try reinstalling the apps or contacting the developer if that doesn't suffice. Or find different apps for those functions.

The third one I can't comment on - I'm not American so don't have stuff like that forced on me.

Your last is a little unclear. But if you mean what I think I'm not aware of one, other than contacting the developer and asking them to update their app so it uses the SD access system Android has had for almost 4 years now.

The sounds, vibrations and reminders have to be turned off too.
Mine are located in settings/sound/advanced. There are 2 places to change, hopefully these screenies help.

Thanks it's metro PCS and it seems any phone has to be from them. when I brought over an AT&T it held calls for a couple years then they changed something in their network and my phone wouldn't receive calls from my house and they blamed it on my non metro PSC phone.
