What is the silver thing, with all the holes in it, at the very top (front) of my Galaxy S4 ?
Right above the word "SAMSUNG".

I think you're talking about the speaker for phone calls

Same thing. Always wondered why it's called a speaker though. You'd look crazy if you were speaking into one
Edit: actually I'll answer that one myself. It's because it speaks

Yeh, that's the earpiece, just above the word SAMSUNG. You hold it to your ear, so you hear the other person on your phone calls. My Samsung Galaxy S7 is just the same.
