What Is This USB? Does Anyone Know...?

Does anyone know the name of this USB connector which fits into my FM transmitter for the car?

It looks similar to a 4pin firewire plug but from looking at it I dont think it is.

Its smaller than USB mini and seems smaller than USB micro.

The picture on top left if the connector and the right hand picture is where it fits into the FM transmitter.

The bottom picture is trying to show you just how much smaller it is than the Micro USB connectors for our phone.

I need to buy a regular USB to (what ever this is) adapter but days of looking on the net arent helping.

Does any clever peep know what this is and where I can get the adapter.

I believe thats a "mini b 8 pin" usb connection. Although it's not so easy to see the small pic in my phone so i could be wrong.

It does seem to be an 8 pipn of some kind but the one you mentioned the mini b 8 pin seems to have all pin together in a row whereas my one has 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom.

Any other ideas, I am still stuck.

Try a google image search for "usb connectors mate" also look carefully at the perimiter shape of the plug, that should be a big clue.

Try "mini ab" connector.

It looks closest to a mini AB but after looking at photos of mini AB on the net - my connector is more rectangular.

I dont think it is mini AB either :-(

Anyone got any other ideas please?

What's the make of the FM transmitter - that may help?

Its doesnt have a make unfortunately, it just says WIRELESS FM STEREO MODEL 668A
