Help What personal info is required to order 5X?

I was about to place an order for a Nexus 5X, but then I stopped to read the terms and saw that it requires a Google Payments Account.

I've never had a Google Payments Account. The login page for the terms indicates that Google Payments is also called Google Wallet, and here's some of the info it says I may have to provide:

"you may be asked to provide the following information: Credit or debit card number and card expiration date, bank account number and expiration date, address, phone number, date of birth, social security number or taxpayer identification number (or some other government-issued identification number)"

I'm not really comfortable with providing all this information. I was hoping to just use my credit card, check out as a guest, and be done with it. I do want a 5x (or possibly a 6P; I haven't decided yet), so I might be willing to provide some of the information they asked for. Without actually agreeing to the terms first, could someone who's placed the order tell me the minimum amount of information I can get away with providing? I'm not at all interested in using Google Payments/Wallet beyond whatever is required to order a 5X and get support for it for my warranty period.

It sounds as if it'll only need some of your info as opposed to all your info. You should be able to check out with your credit card.

Do I have to add money to my Google Wallet before checking out, or can I just pay directly with the card? I just read that there was a 2.9% fee for transferring funds from a credit or debit card. When we're talking about several phones, that really adds up.

I've never been asked for my social security number or bank account. You can just pay with a credit card, and they need an address to ship it to. If you don't want your personal address, ship it to a work/school address and give the work/school phone number.

Did you have to give your date of birth?

Sounds like credit card is the way to go. Did you have to add funds to your wallet from your credit card first, or did you just pay directly with the card? I think there's a 2.9% fee to add funds to a Google Wallet from a debit or credit card.

Just paid directly with card. I actually have some Google Play credit, so I was hoping it'd use that before tapping my credit card, but the full amount just went straight to the card.

You cannot use Play credit in the Google Store. This includes the $50 Play credit you are getting from Google for pre-ordering the phone, the credit must be used in the Play Store (so on apps, music, books, etc).

...also comes with 90 days of Google unlimited music streaming. Has anyone tried that out, and if it's worth it?
I've tried it before. I wasn't a fan. Of course, I don't really like any music streaming (Spotify, Pandora, etc.).
