What phone to get on Sprint (other than Evo)?

I'm a Sprint fan because of their reasonably priced voice/data plans and I get a 30% discount (which is sizable given I have a family all on Sprint). It also gets strong signal in my house (and my friend's Verizon phone doesn't work at my house).

I've finally decided to take the leap from my trusty Palm Centro (I've been using Palm stuff for over a decade) to an Android phone.

Trouble is, I can't find a good Android powered phone in the pipeline at Sprint. I'm really sensitive to size, and the upcoming EVO is simply too big. I carry my phone on me at all times, and I want it small.

The Hero is a nice size (perfect actually) but I tend to have my phone for years and I want to buy the "latest and greatest" (again, given my size constraints, not the EVO), and the Hero is pretty old.

Does anyone know if Sprint will be coming out with a Hero replacement? The Legend? The Verizon Incredible is the perfect phone for me, but it's on Verizon. Any chance of that phone coming to Sprint (under a diff't name of course)?

Thanks all,
Vesbon

Don't think so dude, the EVO is going to be next flagship Android phone Sprint has. As far as size go, the Moment or the Hero are your only two choices on Sprint. I had the Moment for awhile, and I loved it.... until all the issues screwed me over. I don't like radio lock-outs to say the least. If you can handle the size of the EVO, that's about the only new one we're getting for a long while I feel. Sorry dude. You can jump the Hero bandwaggon if you want to, it's not all bad. We have Alabama sweet tea and blueberry muffins, it's cool.

The Hero is a good phone. Just because there are newer phones really doesn't diminish it's performance in my opinion.

I'm in the same boat as you on size though. The Hero is as big a phone as I want. 4+ inch screen might be nice for viewing, but not for carrying in your pocket. I hope when I upgrade, there is a new Android similar in size to my Hero.

I think you all may have forgotten? Nexus One is coming to Sprint sometime next month? If you like the Hero than you will like the Nexus one it's also Mfg. by HTC as well? Just my $0.02 ;)

Thanks for the replies. Wow, so no Legend is coming to Sprint? I'm surprised with how popular the Hero is they aren't coming out with a Hero2. Or maybe they are putting all their effort into the EVO.

Yeah, I may just get the Hero. By now, all the bugs are worked out and Android 2.1 will be on it soon.

So the Nexus One is coming to Sprint? Do you think it will be subsidized and be offered at a reasonable price? Is there anywhere to see the Nexus One in person... hold it in my hand to get a feel for the size and shape?

Cheers,
Vesbon

Pretty sure the N1 will be subsidized and I'd guess it'll be no more than $199 considering the EVO is rumored to be $199 - 250 after all rebates.
