I am tired of paying high prices for cell service. I noticed a new hotspot service called "FreedomPop" they say there signals are sent out on the Sprint network. What is confusing for me. They advertise that you can use there service on laptops, tablets, & phones any device that is able to pick up WIFI signals. well if that is the case it doesn't matter if my phone is CDMA or GMS phone just as long as it can pick up WIFI, am I right or wrong ? But then again they say they are on Sprint 4G & 3G network. If that is the case how will a Wi-Fi laptop pick up Sprint signals ? I sent numerous emails to them & they don't give me a direct answer.
I don't want to go buy a phone and it won't pick up there data signals. I want to use a Android smart phone to download TextNow.app. Text Now gives you a personal phone no. & .02 cents a min. voice & free texting. I would use this phone at free wifi spots & my home WIFI, & FreedomPop where free WIFI is not available. the phone spec. for thephone I was planning on getting is:
Frequency: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz WCDMA 850/2100MHzand
WiFi: 802.11b/g/n wireless internet
WILL THIS PHONE WORK WITH FreedomPop 3G/4G data plan ?
Does frequency specs. matter OR, just WIFI specs. for me to get internet service for my wireless device ??
