What smartphones currently run on Tizen?

Despite all the new promotions to encourage Tizen development. I still have yet to see any smartphones that run it. Is there any way to partition the hard drive to allow one's phone to operate both. What is the current version of Tizen?

They keep delaying the release of their device.

I think they are afraid of the potential failure of their own system. Especially considering that after seeing people being upset about Tizen being on the Gear.

My fear is that their OS ends up working about as well as the software on my Samsung blu-ray player.

Remember they've failed with their own smartphone OS once before (Bada, in case you never even noticed it ;)).

My guess (and it's only that) is that with the markets already nervous about their smartphone growth having stalled they don't want to risk a high-profile flop just now.

I just don't think there's much of a market for a Tizen phone myself. Why make a Tizen phone when you can be making Android phones for very much the same price? Tizen there's hardly any apps, Android there's millions.

And Android is free, it was stupid IMO for Samsung to spend any R&D on Tizen when they had a free OS from Google that is widely popular and only requires minimal modification + Touchwiz, which Samsung chooses to add in.

Ah, but if Samsung can control the OS themselves and get the app/media store revenue it might work out for them. But for that to happen they need to get enough carrier interest (in many markets) and developer interest (in all markets) for it to take off. And it's a pretty crowded market already (ask Microsoft).

From what I hear it can even run .apk packages. If not whatever.

But the question is, if Samsung really DOES back away from android, and google is more and more close sourcing android... Meaning it will not only not be as customizable, but more expensive too, who might take the tizen train?

As for me, I want to see how tizen turns out.. I don't want to waste money in its ecosystem if its going to fail (in the app store.. Not just the device)

I know tizen isn't necessarily new, but I just watched a pocket now daily that mentioned it and reminded me..
