Here's a screen shot of my Android running the Dolphin Browser in desktop mode -

Due to fact that there's a lot of open source code in common with Apple used in the common Android web rendering engine, that site is convinced that I'm running Safari on a Mac.

A lot of other sites make the same mistake.

The issue that I see is that you have what appears to be login credentials for the baidu.com market - not something that you want at all unless it's critical to using some baidu app or service. I'm not sure what that could be.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baidu

It's not a good thing and is generally a gateway to apps and services that you don't want near your phone.

While a lot of stuff from China is pretty good, there's a whole other set that is just pure snake oil - ram cleaners, task killers, battery enhancers and the like.

Those apps actually lie about what they do (quite successfully I might add) and their real goal is to sell you stuff.

I'd suspect that such an app got installed (along with perhaps a tap on one of its amazing offers) and it came along for the ride, or maybe a website ad was clicked.

Well that's just peachy. I think my ex boyfriend tried to root my phone, he used Apple stuff. Could it be a spyware kind of thing? How could I find out exactly what it is, and if I can remove it without collapsing a black hole?

You can only root Android with Android tools (I've done it with Android tools on a Mac, but I've used the same tools on Windows and Linux - the tools don't care).

If he tried to use a iPhone jailbreak on it, it would have just bounced off and done no harm. Wouldn't even have scratched the paint lol.

Let's get your phone cleaned up - which model is it?

Droid max xt1080, I've got ALOT of music and pics I don't want to lose...no PC to move them to, be gentle
Fair enough, done right it ought not be an issue.

Btw - do you have a Google Drive or other cloud service set up?

Aside from the issue at hand, I'd recommend one for backups. You could lose those pictures and music to a nasty drop, theft, whatever.

So here's the general process -

Back up as much possible (probably Super Backup will do) but don't back up apps that you don't recognize.

Make sure that you have your contacts and calendars synced with Google.

Check out "Super Backup : SMS & Contacts"

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.idea.backup.smscontacts

Reset the phone but leave media storage intact.

Restore the backup.

Clean up orphaned storage using SD Maid, but carefully, please see this post (and maybe a few around it) for warnings and suggestions -

While you're looking into your backup options, I'm going to tag @Thom here and see if we can't get his help.

He has the Motorola experience you need, please don't try to clear data or apps until we hear from him or another Motorola user.

I use an HTC and don't want to describe a setting or option incorrectly and have you lose anything you need to keep ok.

I fell asleep, then been at work. I haven't had a chance to look at or read anything yet and will have to wait until this evening, which is good.. looks like some chimes haven't chimed yet. I really appreciate your help here, I've got so many questions still yet about other strange things that I've noticed..you might have to pull out the garlic and wooden spikes. Fair warning.
